Custom Products
You may have been told by other companies “if you don’t see it, ask
for it”. At Market Central, we take this even further and recognize that today’s customs often become tomorrow’s standard products. We
truly appreciate the opportunity to work with you to review your applications and develop solutions that exactly meet your needs. If a standard
product will work, we’ll tell you – even if it isn’t one of ours. If a custom solution is needed, we can often modify an existing product to
add the needed functionality. We also develop new products when the requirements can’t be easily achieved using an off-the-shelf product as a
basis. And our customs are surprisingly affordable. We generally do not charge any non-recurring engineering fees and typically can provide a
solution that is only a modest increase in price over the standard product – in some cases it can even be less! And large quantities are not a
requirement. Many customs and specials that we do are for a single unit.
Some of the customs that we’ve done recently include:
- Added automatic switching capabilities to monitor RS232 or RS530 data and control signals
and switch connections when the primary connection goes down
- Monitor network access to a specific IP address and switch connections based on configurable
parameters (this feature has since been expanded on and is now available as a standard capability in a number of our products)
- Provided private labeled versions of standard products
- Modified electrical interfaces – for example to support TTL rather than RS232 signal levels
on our fiber driver product
- Created versions of our switches that do not have any memory or processors for use in secure
applications where configuration settings and data activity cannot be allowed to persist from one session to the next
- Built rackmount versions of desktop products and added dry contact closure remote control
- Modified units to run off of alternate power sources – for example 125 VDC
- Made switch products with multiple ports of mixed interface types
- Provided single mode versions of standard multimode products
- Added OFF positions to switches to include the capability to have none of the ports
connected
